Staff shortages in the security domain

This year, one of the issues we are working on is the rising labour shortages in the security chain. These pose a risk to ensuring a safe society. However, common ways of recruitment, which often also involve ‘fishing in the same pool of candidates’, no longer seem sufficient. We need to start looking, thinking and acting fundamentally differently. We want to come up with new proposals and actually bring about systemic change. We are the system.

What to expect?

– Introduction by Tabo Goudswaard, creative leader of the Embassy of Safety on the power of creation.
– Esther Oprins, scientific researcher at TNO and co-author of the TNO research ‘Breakthrough in screaming staff shortage requires new perspective’ presents the results of this research.
– Artist and philosopher Koert van Mensvoort, director of Next Nature talks about the future of work, in which technology plays a dominant role and may become our next nature.
– In conversation with Defence, Police, Judicial Institutions Department and Customs on the issue of staff shortages in the security domain, its impact ontheir own organisations, initiatives already underway to address the issue. What is really needed to achieve a breakthrough?
– Breakout sessions in which security professionals discuss the issue with scientists and designers to arrive at an impulse for change on the issue of staff scarcity.
