In a world where urbanisation often comes at the expense of nature, a new vision is emerging that seeks harmony between the built environment and the natural world. This vision forms the foundation of our new programme, Building as a Landscape, where nature, construction, and infrastructure converge to create regenerative urban landscapes. The central question we explore is: How can we connect buildings and infrastructure with nature to develop a regenerative urban landscape?

Together with start-ups, ecological experts, and construction companies, we are seeking new insights, materials, and building systems to ensure the livability of the built environment for humans, animals, and nature—now and in the future. Water, the source of all life, plays a central role in this vision.

Designing Society exposition

The Embassy of Circular & Biobased Building is part of the ‘Designing Society’ exposition at Dutch Design Week. Dutch Design Foundation invites visitors to discover new perspectives on possible futures during this over 600m2 exposition. Through various themes, you will discover how we as a society can connect the power of design to the complex challenges of today and tomorrow.
