Embassy of Food at DDW24
The Embassy of Food is part of the Designing Society exposition during Dutch Design Week at Ketelhuisplein. The Embassy of Food aims to bring imagination and reality together by being a place where, besides designers, people from across the food chain come together to experiment with each other; from farmers to scientists and from policy officers to supermarket directors. During the exposition, you will get insights into the results of these meaningful collaborations.

Our food system, and the current way of consuming, is in dire need of change. But the question of how to tackle it has been bogged down for some time. With design power and in meaningful collaborations, we will look for the answer to the question: how can we take a fresh look at the bottlenecks and thus reshape the current food system?
The exposition takes The Disk of Five for Twelve (our relationship with food) as a starting point for how we should eat. The relationship to soil, the space taken up by growing food, the time it takes, and the effects on humans and animals are all translated into new scenarios. Thus, together we sketch a new future perspective in which we can feel good about our relationship with our food.
