Cities with larger educational institutions experience hyper rush hour in the morning. Commuters and students literally sit almost in each other’s laps in public transport or ride each other’s wheels by car and bike. This happens both towards the city and within the city itself. Separating these large transport flows in time will improve the travel quality and safety for travellers. According to an initial estimate, a 30-40% reduction in hyper rush hour is feasible.
Under the name Slimroosteren 2.0, a Quick scan was carried out by Mobinck, commissioned by the Sustainable Accessibility Heijendaal partnership in Nijmegen. Various stakeholders were asked about the (im)possibilities of moving back group-oriented education for MBO/HBO and WO by 1 hour to the period 9.30/10-18.00/30 instead of 8.30/9.00-17.00/30.
In this meeting, Mobinck’s findings will be presented and we will discuss with attendees the findings and also the issue of how to take this also social change forward nationwide. You are welcome to join
