Cascade

Terrestrial introduces an innovative construction method using locally sourced earth, clay, and natural binders. This groundbreaking technique, shot-earth 3D printing, creates robust structures and significantly reduces the ecological impact of traditional building materials. The mockup you see relates to the 1:20 scale model where we explore the application of this technique on an architectural scale.

By printing in situ, material transport is minimized and CO2 emissions are reduced, especially in large-scale infrastructure projects. After its lifespan, the structure can return to nature without harmful effects. This innovative method also offers possibilities for nature-inclusive building, integrating flora and fauna into the designs. One important challenge remains the combination of effective water management to ensure the durability of the structures and prevent erosion or collapse.
