Strategic design in detention

Over the past year, designers organised various sessions with people from the prison system on topics such as staff shortages, rehabilitation, and meaningful work. Detainees and staff from different levels worked together to find solutions. This new approach ensured that everyone was involved at the right time, which strengthened collaboration without any one group taking the lead.

Co-creation is behavioural change

Co-creation brings people together and helps break old patterns, encouraging behavioural change. This way of working is quite new, especially because detainees are not voluntary end-users. The process creates new connections and ideas, changing the system step by step as people begin to think and work together in different ways.
